DataHub provides building blocks for your data driven research, and works continuously on innovative research driven solutions. The DataHub team is actively involved in developing knowledge, guidance and capacity building in managing and sharing data, primarily for the health sciences, in accordance with the FAIR data principles. We provide a modern, state-of-the-art infrastructure that is more than just a data archive. We are continuously improving our services in order to provide added value to researchers who want to do more with their data.
Data often have a longer lifespan than the research project that creates them. Well organised, well documented, preserved and shared data are invaluable to advance scientific research and to increase opportunities for learning and innovation. There are many decisions to make before you start to create your data. Making these choices early on in your project can save you time and effort later. Moreover, many funders now expect you to show you have engaged in data planning. The decisions will affect how you can access, use, reuse and preserve the research data in the future. By thinking out the management of your research data before the start of your research project, you reduce the possibility of unpleasant surprises during your research.
DataHub covers all activities necessary for starting up a new research project. DataHub can help you making decisions about data planning before you even start creating data. During an intake meeting we will discuss your daily routines, the type of data and potential privacy concerns in order to find an exact match between your use case and the services we can offer. Next, we will create a project environment and user accounts. Based on your preferences, we will set an authorisation level that matches your situation.
Besides our own knowledge on technology and innovative data management, we closely collaborate with partners like MEMIC and the Clinical Trial Center Maastricht (CTCM). This close collaboration with other groups is embodied in the DataHub community.
