Processing data is one of the core activities for DataHub. Our services are focused on including new data in the research data warehouse. The services provided are deidentification and registering the relevant ontology.
How can I pseudonymise my research data?
Due to privacy concerns regarding the storage of identifiable information we make sure that all data is properly pseudonymised before being stored in our system. To help you with the pseudonymisation of your study subject we make use of a Master Person Index. This software replaces the study subject demographic information with a unique identifier. This identifier then allows us to aggregate data for this study subject without using identifying information.
How can I upload my research data?
DataHub offers several options to upload your research data into the DataHub infrastructure. The first one is a fully automated pipeline for data from the Healthcare research domain. Based on the HL7 CDA standard, messages are automatically exported, pseudonymised, stored and made searchable. The second option is a manual upload through our web portal. This portal allows you to upload all types of research data.
The infrastructure makes sure that:
your data are accompanied by the proper metadata;
correct permissions are set;
the data are securely stored at the correct location;
the data are made searchable.
Who can help creating a metadata template for my research data?
All data stored in the DataHub infrastructure should be accompanied by proper metadata. We can imagine that your current practice is not compliant to our structured metadata standards and some data modeling has to be performed in order to achieve compatibility. Our data stewards have a lot of experience choosing the correct metadata standard that fits best with your research data. We will create a custom template for your data, based on the chosen metadata standard. This template will include ontologies where necessary. The use of ontologies allows better reuse, combination and searchability of the data.
Who can help collecting and cleaning my research data?
Data stewards will be your primary source of help when collecting and cleaning your data. The data stewards could come from one of the organisations that already assist you like MEMIC or the Clinical Trial Center Maastricht (CTCM). But it is also possible to have a data steward at your own department. We offer the possibility to come and work with us, learn our system and become a data steward.
